Artists Open Houses Festival, unique experience in May 2013

Artists Open Houses Festival

The Artists Open Houses Festival provides a unique experience for visitors, offering the chance to visit artists and makers in their own homes and to view and buy artwork directly from them. Work includes painting, sculpture and printmaking as well as jewellery, ceramics, textiles and many other media. Many visitors buy their first piece of original artwork at an Open House and return year after year.
A majority of venues belong to one of 14 Open House Trails, which cover different areas of the city and beyond; there are also independent Open Houses in many areas. Trails are geographically grouped and houses are usually within walking distance of each other. Entry is free – and many Open Houses offer homemade tea and cake.
The Artists Open Houses is an inclusive, open to all event, welcoming participation from all areas of the community, including school and college students and marginalised artists.
The Artists Open Houses festival is proud of its roots within the diverse and vibrant artists’ community of Brighton and Hove. It continues to innovate and evolve, reflecting the experience and professionalism as well as the youth and freshness of the city’s artists. With a focus on quality and value for money, Artists Open Houses works to bring this dynamic mix of arts and crafts to the widest possible audience, providing visitors and viewers with engaging and inspiring experiences.  If you would like to get involved as a supporter of the Artists Open Houses. Opening Dates: May 4-5-11-12-18-19-25-26.
